Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 2026
Welcome to Anchorlox. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Anchorlox mobile application ("App") and associated services. By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Early Access and "As-Is" Service
Anchorlox is currently in Early Access (Alpha/Beta testing).
- Experimental Nature: You acknowledge that the App is a work-in-progress and may contain bugs, errors, or technical inconsistencies.
- No Warranties: The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will function uninterrupted or error-free.
2. The Focus Mechanism and App Blocking
Anchorlox uses the Android Accessibility Service (or similar system-level permissions) to restrict access to other applications during a "Focus Session."
- Intentional Restriction: By starting a session, you intentionally grant the App permission to block your access to third-party applications.
- The "Focus Contract": You acknowledge that the primary way to lift these restrictions is by scanning your designated physical "Anchor."
3. User Responsibility and The Anchor
The effectiveness of Anchorlox relies on your interaction with the physical world.
- Anchor Selection: You are solely responsible for choosing a physical Anchor that is safe, accessible, and within your reach.
- Risk of Lockout: You assume all risks associated with the inability to scan your Anchor (e.g., if the Anchor is destroyed, lost, or becomes inaccessible). You acknowledge that this may result in temporary restricted access to certain apps on your device.
4. Emergency Access
Crucial: Anchorlox is designed not to interfere with emergency functions. However, software is not infallible.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have alternative means of communication for emergencies.
- The App is not intended for use in high-risk environments where the restriction of device access could lead to personal injury or death.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (specifically under German law for developers based in Germany):
- No Liability for Access Loss: The developer ("Marius Wagner") shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or costs resulting from your inability to access blocked apps or your device.
- No Indirect Damages: In no event shall the developer be liable for lost profits, lost productivity, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the App.
- Maximum Liability: Any total liability for claims under these terms is limited to the amount you paid to use the App (if any).
6. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the App (including the "Wagner Flow" methodology, logos, and code) are and will remain the exclusive property of Marius Wagner. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Early Access program at any time, without notice, for any reason—including, but not limited to, a violation of these Terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in your place of residence/business.
